Texas Tried and True

Perrin arrived at the Dunkin home well rested and energized for a fun-filled visit with 2 little girls.  Before she could even freshen up from her travels, she caught Lo’s eye and immediately received an exuberant hug and handshake.
Her next order of business was a proper introduction to the other DFH dolls in our home- Wynne, Holiday, and Lacey.  As the older sister, Wynne gave Perrin the tour; showing Perrin where she would be sleeping, the closet of doll clothes she was welcome to wear, and instructing her in the daily routine.  The younger girls quickly became distracted and ran off to play.

Perrin’s first few days were quite laid back.  She met B, the oldest little girl in our home and was instantly included with all her other dollies.  Perrin took part in the daily activities around the house: breakfast, naptime, playtime, and story-time.  Besides B, her best friend throughout the entire trip was Holiday.

Every time I turned around I found Perrin and Holiday chattering away, giggling about something funny that B had said or making up stories about ballerinas and fairies to tell at story-time that night.  Sometimes Perrin even acted out the part of Fairy Princess, using accessories she found in B’s vanity.  Bedtime became everyone’s favorite part of the day!

The most exciting part of Perrin’s visit was her last weekend here.  She attended the infamous University of Texas vs. Oklahoma University football game at the State Fair of Texas.  While her team didn’t play well, she cheered with all her heart!  This girl definitely knows the meaning of team spirit!
Following the game, Perrin joined the entire extended family for fun and tradition at Prairie Lakes Ranch.  She played with all the grandkids and even got to celebrate one special little girl’s 6th Birthday!

However, Perrin’s favorite part about the visit to the ranch was taking a tour with B and her GDad.  She saw a horse, donkeys, ducks, cows and of course, a few bulls.  She got to drive the pick-up truck, open the farm gates, and even feed one of the cows named Annie!  Perrin was feeling like a true Texan now!
Her last day here, Perrin returned to the State Fair of Texas to meet one very important person: Serendipity.  She waved through the glass and blew kisses <3.  How exciting to meet Nancy’s First Prize girl!  Perrin completed the afternoon by munching on Fletcher’s Corny Dogs and Deep Fried Oreos, and gave one final wave to Big Tex on her way home.
Perrin’s last night here she sneaked off to have a little chat with Lacey over tea and cookies.  B was going to be sad when Perrin left, and Lacey was going to take her place as B’s new dollie.  Perrin told Lacey about B’s imaginative personality, her fun-loving spirit and sweet nature.  Lacey agreed she was up for the job!  The morning Perrin left, there were lots of hugs and kisses.

Perrin told everyone, “Goodbye Pardners!” and set off to her next destination.  We will miss you Perrin and wish you many safe travels!
